The martial art known as karate was developed because people needed to defend themselves without using weapons.  It was brought to Japan in the 1920s, where it was adapted and became known as it is today.

Or so I thought.

Karate started somewhere other than Asia.

According to a heated discussion on the bus, dinosaurs were very good at karate.

WOW!

As the debate continued, it was evident that dinosaurs invented karate.  This information blew me away.  How do these students know this? What is the evidence that supports this theory?  I am in no position to question the authority of these children since they are the ones who are in the middle of the most advanced educational system the world has ever known.  Our vast knowledge is growing daily in leaps and bounds that it is impossible to keep up, especially for an old, out-of-date bus driver like myself.

Every day, I learn something new and appreciate my privileged position in transporting tomorrow’s leaders to school.  The world will be in their hands someday, and we can rest assured that those will be good hands.
