It is not a very large location in Niagara, Ontario, but it delivers big in floral beauty. Floral Showhouse is one of only a few places owned by Niagara Parks that charges admission, and the price of admission is very much worth what you see.

This stunning location has an outdoor exhibit and an indoor one. On our first trip to Floral Showhouse with my wife, Charlene, I admired the mini houses in the outer section. It reminded me of Cullen Gardens, a long-lost attraction that used to be in Whitby, Ontario. The groundskeeper overheard our conversation and confirmed that these are indeed the buildings from Cullen Gardens. The best ones are on display, surrounded by these gardens. I was impressed. As a child, it was the only place my parents took us to repeatedly, and it was a blow hearing that it closed down. At least some of the buildings are now preserved and still able to be displayed.

Inside, the greenhouse has on one side their themed showings. There are several throughout the year, making a year membership something to seriously consider, especially if you are like us and visit the Niagara region many times a year.

Shows:

  • Cyclamen and Orchid Show: Early Jan to early March
  • Spring Show: March to April
  • Annual Hydrangea Display: May to June
  • Annual Summer Show – June to Sept
  • Rieger Begonia Show – Sept to Oct
  • Annual Chrysanthemum Show – Oct to Nov
  • The Annual Poinsettia Show – Nov to Jan

We often visit Floral Showhouse at Christmas. Their poinsettia display has to be the best in the world. No matter how often we have seen it, we are always dazzled. It is a great place to warm up when we are in Niagara for the Festival of Lights held each Christmas season.

All those who are anthophilous (lovers of flowers) will undoubtedly love Floral Showhouse. We have never been disappointed.

This location, and many others, are on a Google Flowers and Trees Map that I created. It is constantly being updated, so keep checking it for the new places that I find.

Featured Google Map showcases this and all the other places I have visited.  It is free to download.
