As a school bus driver, I sometimes feel underappreciated and taken for granted; this lifestyle can be challenging.

There is the expectation of arriving on time.  Not early, not late, but on time.  We need to balance the weather, traffic, kids running late or walking painfully slow to the bus, the occasional drama on the bus and the need to do so safely.  It is an actual juggling act some days.

At least one of my students appreciated the service that I provided for them and left me a tip.

A whole dime!

Understandably, my student tipper did not want to draw attention to himself, so he quietly left it on the floor for me to find when I cleaned my bus between runs.

Woo-hoo!

I will add this to my jar of tips, bringing the total I have received to 10 cents.

If this keeps up, I might have enough money to buy a good thing, like a Timbit, by the end of the school year.
