There have been only a few sites we have visited that have honestly taken my breath away. Parc Marie-Victorin in Kingsey Falls, Quebec, did that. I saw some pictures of this place and knew instantly I was going to plan an entire trip to Quebec to make sure that we would go and see this beautiful place.

Featuring a dazzling display of colours from thousands of flowers, there are waterfalls, many topiaries, a historical museum and 5 kilometres of trails on their 29 acres. We love all of those things, and it was all in one location; we could not ask for a better destination to visit.

Just stunning.

My grandfather had the exceptional talent for keeping any plant alive and thriving. When we visited his home, every plant and flower was at its peak. He was a fountain of knowledge when it came to greenery. He loved flowers, and I inherited that love from him. Sadly, the only plants I can keep alive are the plastic kind, and sometimes those suffer under my care.

I thought of him; he would have loved to have seen this place. He would have been able to name each plant, appreciate the beauty of the flowerbeds and marvel at the topiary. It was unfortunate that I never knew of Parc Marie-Victorin until years after his passing. I did think of him each time I snapped a picture (something he did quite a bit of too).

The entire park is well maintained and is a thing of beauty. Each section is themed. We came at the perfect time in early August when everything was at its best.

A bonus was the waterfalls. Charlene and I always seek out falls, and Quebec has fantastic falls. We were given a passcode to re-enter the park from a locked gate to access more flowers along a pathway to the falls. It was the heat of summer and not much rain, so it was dried up when we got the first falls. I was disappointed. We continued the path admiring the plants and flowers on display, and stumbled upon the main falls which were flowing.

There was the added feature of an antique building showcasing items that I recognized from my youth. Being a place where literally millions of pictures have been taken, there was a display of cameras. I noticed a few that my grandfather had owned.

We came across the place where they hold weddings. Charlene was immediately jealous that we didn’t get married here! Had we gotten married at every location she loved, we would be holding a wedding a week for the next ten years.

Parc Marie-Victorin is located in one of the most beautiful regions of Quebec. The admission to this display of nature’s glory is very reasonable and worth every second of time spent. Open from early June to early October.

There are tours of the paper plant called Cascades. It can be added as a package to entry into this park.

A lima bean. Who likes lima beans??? Not me! The only bad part about this whole place.

To see this and other flower locations, view this Google Map which includes this location.

I have also created a map FEATURING all the places discussed on this website, and it is free to download.
