About ten days ago, I had a doctor’s appointment. I hate going to these things since I have had so many in my life, and I already knew the results. I’m fine; I don’t need anyone to tell me that.

We suffered waiting in the waiting room. The only positive thing about this boring event was that the hospital was close to running on time. Plus, I was impatient for our big trip to Cleveland. When we finally saw the cardiologist, it was the briefest appointment with her ever. She said I am doing fine, which I was already well aware of, and that if she did not know my history, she would have thought she was looking at a normal heart. This part was nice to hear since I am legally obligated to be alive at work.

Today, I celebrate 2002 days since I had my surgery. Of course, I want to celebrate in a big way. And the best way to celebrate is to change from snow tires to summer tires on the car. Then, I will put the cargo carrier on the vehicle and find all our camping stuff. After that, I will load the car, print off the itinerary to Virginia Beach and wait impatiently for Friday.

I am glad to live in a country that has supported me medically all of my life. I am glad to have found a partner to share my old life and my newfound life from the surgery. I am glad we share the same joys and can count on each other.

I cannot wait until Friday for the opening of our camping season!!!
