One of the hardest things to do when planning a trip is deciding where. Where do we go? Where is the best place to see during the timeframe that we have? Where can we see as much as we can?

We had finished our summer trip, which I called America the Beautiful, and Charlene blurts out that she would like to go to Salem for Halloween, just like that. There was no prompting. I didn’t ask a question. I wasn’t even thinking about our next trip, since we still hadn’t unpacked from this one, and here my wife makes this stunning exclamation.

My “where” questions were solved immediately. We quickly passed through Salem as an add-on for our previous summer trip along the coast, so we know that there are a bunch of things to do in this tourist trap city that centers itself around the witch trials that made Salem so infamous.

I have developed a plan for an extended four-day exploration that includes a reasonable amount of time in Salem on Halloween.  I have made a map of the places we are going. The itinerary can be found below.
