Charlene and I like hiking, and we like art.  At Humanics Sanctuary and Sculpture Park, we could do both.  Located within a ravine just a short drive from Ottawa, Ontario, is a place that celebrates the diversity of all of mankind and honours the equality of everyone.  The sculpture park is themed, where each area is based on the culture of a particular religion or region.  In doing this, they feature the wide variety of human interests and beliefs.  Placing these sculptures in the same park shows that we are all equal.

We visited in the fall when the autumn colours were at their peak. We slowly explored the area using a book that we borrowed that described all the statues in this park. We were also accompanied by the founder of Humans Sanctuary. Our reasonable admission would help bring more figures to this natural setting.

Our time in this location was peaceful and serene.  Despite being near a roadside, we could barely hear the passing traffic and enjoy the setting and all the art within.  Even though it was autumn, this destination would be great to explore any time of year.  Plus, visiting this place helps support that the world and the people in it, are all beautiful and something that should be celebrated.
