For our Christmas trip, we did Being Blown Away By Christmas In The Windy City. While planning that trip, I discovered there is a lot to do in Chicago and the surrounding area.
I decided our next trip would be back to Chicago for round two, and I called it Being Blown Away By The Mob In The Windy City. The key feature we will be doing will be the Crime Tour on Valentine’s Day. I remembered that there was a St. Valentine’s Day Massacre that was mob-related and thought this would be a great way to learn more about this violent period of time. Sadly, the original site of the massacre is long gone, and the current owners want no part in tours and people visiting. Still, a lot of other history led up to the killings and afterwards, as well as the consequences that everyone had to endure.
This four-day round trip is much different from the first one, which was focused on Christmas. The sequel has a criminal element, but we also explore culture, art, and tragedy.
