Today is the day I have planned for on our summer road trip since January. With only hours away, I am packed and waiting for Charlene to finish work.

This summer, we head to the East Coast. I started to build the itinerary months ago with the plan to stay as close to the coast as possible. We were so impressed with last year’s Alaska trip that I want to repeat it with an excursion to the Maritimes.  Both the map I created and the itinerary can be found here.

Last week, I did what I call “confirming.” I went through my itinerary, confirming the campsite reservations, hotel reservations, hours of operation, whether the attractions are still open, and anything else that might come as a surprise. This itinerary had to have some significant changes on some of the days. Several places closed for renovations, and others changed their opening times. The map I have available is a close approximation of what, where and when we are going and doing.

I hope we are as awe-inspired as last year, seeing new places, meeting new people and trying new things. Travel is fun, enlightening and highly addictive. Many pictures will be posted soon!
