It is hardly any secret that I have someone that I share my life with. Charlene has been such a positive influence on me that I cannot imagine where I would be without her.

It is also no secret that we love spending time together, especially finding new places to explore and travel. Years ago, I was faced with a life-or-death decision concerning surgery to fix a long-term issue that was starting to become a real issue. Part of what I wanted to do was fill my beloved wife with memories of us together, so I found places to go, see and explore.

Surgery came, and to our surprise, I survived. But the travel bug was in us, and we continued exploring, heading farther than we had ever thought possible. Today, I am planning on four trips with Charlene. This weekend is a trip to Ottawa that we will share with my Mom. Two days after that, I have a follow-up doctor appointment where we will then head to Cleveland. Two weeks after that is March Break and our trip to Virginia Beach. Also, I am working on our summer plans for the Maritimes.

None of this would be possible if it were not for Charlene. I would not be here today without her help in my life, and I would not have anyone to share the joys of living.

Thank you, my beloved wife, for the years of being with me, our adventures into new lands, and the times we stayed home and enjoyed each other’s company. I cherish you, us and our time together.

Happy Valentine’s Day, my love.

Potato Bar

When we’re out and about and it’s time to head home, our last stop is usually Harvey’s. I love this hamburger restaurant’s meat patty, which is customizable with many topping options. It’s been my go-to when the hunger strikes. But then, Charlene’s son shared a…
