As part of our Bewitched in Salem road trip for Hallowe’en, we were supposed to mine for diamonds in Herkimer, NY. Unfortunately, the weather was just nasty. High winds, heavy rains and loads of mud. I, regrettably, had to say no to something that would have been a lot of fun to do.

But fear not, I have another trip where we can do this as the centrepiece of the weekend. A simple trip that we can do on any weekend when the Herkimer Diamond Mine is open, which is from mid-April to the end of October.

Whenever we go, the itinerary is set. We might strike it rich and not come home, and continue travelling! That really would be something (sigh).
